Safe Zone Checker for TikTok, Reels and Shorts

Posting the same video everywhere? Drop it once and switch between TikTok, Reels and Shorts to see what each app covers, then keep captions inside the area that's clear on all three.

Your file stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Check a video in three steps

1.

Drop the video

Or a screenshot of a frame: MP4, MOV, WebM, JPG, PNG or WebP.

2.

Scrub through it

Play or drag the video to check every caption and face.

3.

Save a frame

Download a PNG with the overlay to share with an editor.

What each app covers

TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts all use a 1080×1920 vertical frame and all cover it in similar places: a bar across the top, a column of buttons on the right, and the username and caption across the bottom. The exact positions differ, so a caption that's clear on one can be hidden on another.

To post one video everywhere, keep captions and faces inside the area that's clear on all three, roughly the middle of the frame from about 12% below the top to 25% above the bottom, and away from the right-hand 15%.

The overlay is an approximation: the exact layout changes with the phone's screen shape, the app version and how long the caption is, so it leaves a small margin. Treat the red areas as "probably covered" and keep important things inside the green box.

Before you post

  • Captions sit above the bottom caption block, not under it.
  • Nothing important is under the right-hand buttons.
  • Faces and products are inside the green safe area.
  • On-screen text isn't hidden by the top bar.
  • The video is 9:16, so the app doesn't crop it.

Can I check a screenshot instead of a video?

Yes. Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP of a frame.

Can I save the overlay?

Yes. "Save this frame as PNG" downloads the current frame with the overlay.
