Online Teleprompter
Paste your script, set your speaking pace in words per minute and press start. The text scrolls past a reading line at that pace, so you can look at the camera and still say every word.
Record with it in three steps
Paste your script
You'll see the word count and how long it takes to read.
Set your pace
140 words per minute is a calm talking-head pace; short-form is often 160 to 180.
Start and read
Read the line at the red marker. Space pauses, the arrow keys speed it up or slow it down.
Reading without sounding like it
Put the teleprompter as close to the camera lens as you can, ideally on the same device or right under the webcam, so your eyes stay near the lens. Bigger text on a screen further away makes your eye movement smaller than small text close up.
The speed is set in words per minute, not pixels, so it means the same at any text size or screen. Conversational speech is around 130 to 160 words per minute. Run through it once at your natural pace, and adjust with the arrow keys while you read.
Mirror mode flips the text left to right, for teleprompter glass (a beam splitter in front of the camera) that shows a reflected screen.

Frequently
Asked Questions
What speed should a teleprompter be?
Most people read naturally at 130 to 160 words per minute. Start at 140 and adjust with the arrow keys.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. Paste the script and start it; tap the text to pause. A tablet or a laptop near the camera is easier to read from.
Does it record video?
No, it only shows the script. Record with your camera or phone app at the same time.
Is my script saved?
No. It stays in your browser and is gone when you close the page.
