You can monetize AI voiceovers in CapCut in two ways: generate the voice in a free tool and import the audio, or use CapCut's built-in text to speech with its Commercial License option turned on. The first route is the one a creator confirmed works on monetized channels.

Generate the voiceover outside CapCut and import it

Use CapCut for editing only and let a separate tool make the voice.

  1. Open Google AI Studio in your browser and find the text-to-speech option in its speech generation tools.
  2. Paste in your script 3 or 4 paragraphs at a time. A full script pasted in one go tends to sound robotic.
  3. Generate each part and download the audio file for each one.
  4. Open CapCut, click Import, select the audio files, and drag them onto the timeline under your video.

Use CapCut's built-in text to speech with the Commercial License toggle

If you want the voice to stay inside CapCut, turn on the commercial option before you generate anything.

  1. Open your project and go to Text, then Text to speech.
  2. Turn on the Commercial License toggle for the voice you pick.
  3. Type or paste your script and generate the audio.
  4. Export your video as usual.

If the toggle is off, the voice is not cleared for monetized videos, so check it every time you start a new voice.

Filter music and stickers for commercial use

The voiceover is only one part of a captioned video. Check every other asset too.

  1. When you add music, stickers or effects, open the library's filter options.
  2. Select Commercial Sound or Commercial License.
  3. Only add items that carry that label.

FAQ

Can I monetize videos that use CapCut's free text to speech?

Yes, as long as you turn on the Commercial License option for the voice. Only use assets that are marked for commercial use.

Does CapCut claim ownership of my videos?

CapCut's terms give it broad rights over content you upload. Most small creators run into no problems, but know those terms before you use it for client work.

Why does my AI voice sound robotic?

Long scripts pasted in one go can sound robotic. Generate the voice in chunks of 3 or 4 paragraphs instead.
