How to Make Words Appear One at a Time in CapCut

Stop the sentence from shifting as words appear in CapCut. Switch the text to left alignment so the first word stays put while each new word is added to its right.

Centered text grows on both sides when you add words, so the first word slides left every time the sentence gets longer. Switching the text to left alignment keeps the first word in one spot, and each new word lands to its right.

Set the text to left alignment

  1. Open your project in CapCut and tap the text layer you want to animate.
  2. Open the Text panel for that layer.
  3. Find the alignment icons and tap Left instead of Center.
  4. Build the sentence one word at a time. Each new word appears to the right of the last one, and the first word stays where it was.

Why centered text moves

When text is centered, the text box resizes to fit the new words and keeps the middle of the line in the same place. Every word you add pushes the earlier words sideways. That's the shifting you see.

Left alignment anchors the start of the line instead. The box only grows to the right, so the first word never moves. Your eyes can stay on the same spot as the words come in, which matters most when the words appear fast.

You don't need a separate text box for each word. Keep the whole sentence in one text layer, set to left alignment, and the words line up on their own.
