How to Fix CapCut Not Exporting Pro Features

Get CapCut desktop to load and export your project again when a server outage breaks the Pro status check, using a VPN switch or two export workarounds.

CapCut desktop gets stuck on the white loading screen and refuses to export Pro features when its servers have a regional outage, because the app can't check your Pro status. The quickest fix is to connect a VPN set to China, then reopen CapCut and export.

These steps are for CapCut desktop. The two backup fixes further down use screen recording on a Mac.

How to export with a VPN set to China

  1. Close CapCut. Quit CapCut desktop completely. On Windows, check the system tray. On Mac, press Cmd + Q.
  2. Open your VPN app. Any VPN that lets you pick a country works.
  3. Set the location to China. Find China in the VPN's server or location list and select it.
  4. Connect the VPN. Click Connect and wait until the app shows you're connected.
  5. Reopen CapCut and your project. The home page should load now. Open the project that wouldn't export.
  6. Export the video. Click Export in the top right, pick your resolution and frame rate, and click Export again.

This was tested on two different computers. Once your video is saved, you can turn the VPN off again.

Remove the Pro features and export

If you don't have a VPN, try exporting without the Pro features turned on. Sometimes the export keeps more than you'd expect.

  1. Go through your timeline and turn off or delete every effect, transition, animation and setting marked Pro.
  2. Click Export.
  3. Watch the exported file. Pro transitions and animations sometimes still come through, even after you removed them.
  4. Anything you had to fully delete, like extracted audio, won't be in the export. Screen record the project playing in CapCut with its audio, then put the export and the recording together in another editor and line them up.
  5. If the export still fails, press Ctrl + Z (Windows) or Cmd + Z (Mac) until all your Pro features are back, and try exporting again.

Screen record the project on a Mac

If nothing exports, you can record the video straight out of CapCut's preview. This takes a few extra minutes but gets you a high-res copy.

  1. Open QuickTime Player and go to File > New Screen Recording.
  2. In CapCut, switch the preview player to full screen.
  3. Start the QuickTime recording, play the video all the way through, then stop the recording.
  4. To get the sound, open Zoom and click Share > Advanced > Computer Audio. This adds a Zoom microphone that only picks up audio from your computer.
  5. Start a new QuickTime recording. Under Options, pick the Zoom microphone as your mic.
  6. Play the video in CapCut a second time to record its sound.
  7. Open both recordings in another editor, crop and trim the video, and add the audio track under it.

QuickTime can't record your computer's audio by itself, which is why the Zoom microphone step is there.

FAQ

Is CapCut down, or is it just my account? When the home page keeps flashing back to the white loading screen and Pro projects won't export, CapCut's servers are usually the problem, not your account or your project. The app can't confirm your Pro status, so it blocks anything that uses Pro features.

Does this happen on the CapCut phone app too? It can. The loading problem shows up on phones during the same outages, but the fixes here are for CapCut desktop on Windows and Mac.
