CapCut's auto-captions sometimes generate subtitles in two languages instead of one, so two lines stack on screen. You can clear them by asking EditPilot, CapCut's built-in AI editing assistant, to remove the multi-line subtitles.

Remove multi-line subtitles with EditPilot

  1. Open your project in CapCut and make sure the timeline with the subtitles is loaded.
  2. Open EditPilot from the editor.
  3. Type a plain instruction such as "remove the multi line subtitles" and send it.
  4. Wait while EditPilot applies the change to the timeline.
  5. Play the video back and check that each caption shows only one line.
  6. If a second line is still there, select it on the timeline and delete it by hand.

EditPilot works from typed instructions, so it may not get it right on the first try. Rephrase the request and run it again if the extra lines stay.

EditPilot doesn't lock the timeline. You can still move clips and edit text yourself after it makes a change, so use it for the bulk cleanup and fix the small details yourself.

Caption with Sycamore instead

If you'd rather skip the cleanup, Sycamore turns a talking-head recording into a finished video with animated, word-synced captions. It runs in your browser, so there's nothing to install. Sycamore transcribes English only, so it won't add a second language of subtitles.

FAQ

Can I still change the timeline myself after EditPilot makes changes?

Yes. EditPilot doesn't lock the timeline, so you can adjust clips and text yourself.
