How to Fix CapCut False Pro Subscription Expiration Alert

If CapCut says your Pro subscription is ending but you never subscribed, you most likely got a free Pro trial that you didn't notice. Check that no payment method is linked to your phone's store or your CapCut account, and your account will drop back to Free.

Check that no payment method is linked

Check the store you bought apps from, since that's where a card would be charged.

1. On an iPhone, open Settings, tap your name at the top, then tap Media & Purchases and View Account.
2. Find the Payment Information section. If a card or payment method is listed, tap it and choose None or remove it.
3. On an Android phone, open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, then tap Payments & subscriptions and Payment methods.
4. Remove any card or payment method you see there.
5. Open CapCut and check your account settings for a saved card. Delete it if you find one.

If you have no payment method on file, nothing gets charged when the trial ends. You stay on the Free plan.

Why the expiration message shows up

CapCut sometimes gives users a week or two of Pro automatically. The point is to let you try the full set of features. When the period ends, Pro features go away and your account goes back to Free. That's why the app can show Pro now and the email can still talk about an ending subscription.

If you ever added a card to CapCut, delete it. That stops CapCut from billing it when the trial ends.

Don't click links in the expiration emails

These emails can keep arriving for months, and some of them say the subscription ends tomorrow. Don't click any link or button in them, and never type bank details into anything they send you. One user who asked CapCut's AI support bot about these emails was told they looked like phishing.

To check your own status, open CapCut and look at your subscription or account page. If you still see Pro there with no payment method on file, you don't need to do anything else.
