In CapCut desktop, right-clicking a clip can show Create Compound Clip where Export Selected Clips used to be. The cause isn't clear, but you can still export a single clip. Most of the fixes below don't bring the menu item back, but each one gets you a single-clip export.

Export one clip with Select by Clip

This is the workaround that works for most people. It highlights one clip so the export only includes that clip.

  1. Click the clip you want to export on the timeline at the bottom of the editor.
  2. Right-click the clip and hover over Range.
  3. Click Select by Clip. Only your clip stays highlighted.
  4. Export the video as you normally would.
  5. When the export finishes, right-click the clip, hover over Range, and click Deselect.

The Deselect step matters. Skip it and the clip stays selected the next time you export.

Set In and Out points and export that range

If you want the export to start and stop on exact frames, mark the range yourself.

  1. Move the playhead to the first frame you want and press I.
  2. Move the playhead to the last frame you want and press O.
  3. Press Ctrl + E on Windows or Cmd + E on Mac to export that range.

The In and Out points work the same way on Windows and Mac. Only the export shortcut changes.

Use Shift + X to select the clip faster

If you'd rather skip the right-click menu, use a keyboard shortcut. Click the clip on the timeline and press Shift + X. That runs the same Select Clip action as the Range menu. Export as usual, then clear the selection the same way as in the first section.

Check the media bin instead of the timeline

One person hit this exact problem and found the export option by right-clicking in the other panel. If you right-click on the timeline and the option is missing, select your clips in the media bin (the library panel) and right-click them there. The export option may appear. This one hasn't been confirmed by many people, so use it if the others don't work.

FAQ

Do I have to deselect the clip after exporting?

Yes. The workaround ends with a Deselect step. Right-click the clip, hover over Range, and click Deselect once the export is done.

Is there a keyboard shortcut to export one clip?

Press I at the start of the clip and O at the end, then press Ctrl + E on Windows or Cmd + E on Mac to export that range.
